1. Your boobs feel like they’re going to explode!

Like literally explode….just the graze of your partner’s arm sends shivers down your spine because you’re positive that those growing breasts of yours are going to pop like a balloon any second now!

2. Your body temperature is schizophrenic!

One minute you’re freezing your buns off….15 blankets and a space heater can’t get you warm…then 10 minutes later you’re sweating like crazy and ripping off every layer!

3. Your taste buds begin to betray you!

Food you love starts to taste funny!  Oh Lindor Truffles how I miss your creamy, velvety, perfect chocolateyness! And coffee, how you betray me with your bitter bitter taste….what happened to my sweet morning nectar?!   Then food you weren’t fond of before become new favorites “can you pass the black eyed peas please”!

4. Charley horses….enough said!

5. You could literally sleep 15 hours a day and still need a nap!

And not just a 15 minute power nap….oh no….we’re talking 2 hour dead to the world…I hope my toddler isn’t coloring on the walls deep sleep kind of nap!

6. You start sleeping like a baby.

And I’m talking about sleeping like a real baby…you wake up every few hours hungry and needing to go potty!

7. The tingles and dizziness begin.

Whenever you get overheated outside your whole body has this weird tingly feeling….I only experience this when pregnant…it’s a different feeling than dehydration….weird is the only way I can describe it!  Keep hydrated and have snacks on you at ALL times…trust me!

8. Cramping…yep, even though you’re not getting your period you still get the joys of cramps!

Your body is stretching and making room for baby.  Don’t worry…it’s completely natural….I was freaked out because they seemed worse the second time around but it’s just my body knowing what it needs to do so it’s doing it….quicker.

9. You and those around you begin to wonder if you really are bipolar!

A commercial will set you off into tears– and I’m not talking about the Budweiser and Animal Abuse commercials that everyone cries about— I’m talking about the latest Huggies or Charmin commercial with all those cute little babies and sweet family moments!  A wrong look from the Hubs could set you off into a tirade! The mere presence of a cute child makes you want cuddle and snuggle!  Your toddler refuses to nap and you feel the need to scream, cry, and cuddle ALL at the same time.  Your emotions really do change in the blink of an eye.

10. You leave the keys in the fridge or TV remote in the car!

Absentmindedness is pretty much guaranteed from conception till the baby’s graduation!  Okay, maybe not that long….but expect pregnancy brain to last for the next year or so…..I’ve been trying to remember to call the yard people for 3 weeks now!

11. You become a bloodhound!

Upon entering the grocery store you can immediately smell the seafood department.  Without even speaking you know what your partner ate for lunch.  Your toddler needs a full scrub down in the shower after EVERY diaper change because you can still smell pee EVERY WHERE!!!

12. Nausea– morning sickness was termed by a man– there’s no such thing!

Nausea can hit at anytime for any reason and is not limited to the morning hours!  In fact I feel GREAT in the morning…it’s mid afternoon and evening when the world seems to be spinning at an alarming rate!  If you’re experiencing nausea then you’ll definitely want to check out Tips for Fighting Nausea During Pregnancy!

13.  Your sex drive is volatile.

Yep sex….you either want it or not….I’m talking take me now super duper got to have it all the time make your 20’s look like a PG movie or don’t even think about touching me much less getting frisky with me type of drive.  It’s an all or nothing time here.  And the slightest thing can turn it off….or on.  And what works one day will have the opposite effect the next day….poor husbands just don’t know what to do!

14.  Just like the volatile sex drive you have a volatile appetite.

You either want to eat everything in site or the mere thought of food makes you want to go take a nap– refer back to #6!

15. The stick turns blue!

I’ve always been told you can have a false negative but not a false positive…if the test says you’re pregnant then you’re pregnant! If the test says you’re not then try again in a few days. It’s impossible to have a false positive because the level of hormones needed to turn the strip blue can only come when a woman is pregnant.

So there you have it 15 Early Signs of Pregnancy.  If you haven’t guessed yet….I’m pregnant! We’re expecting our new Bundle of Joy this Christmas….Little Man keeps telling everyone “the HoHo (Santa) is bringing the baby”….it’s just too cute!  I hope you’ll follow along with my journey as I share all sorts of pregnancy tips, tricks, and fun!

First sign was the boobs getting slightly fuller without the bloat that accompanies my period (win). Then a week later I was running a race I had prepped for perfectly and my legs felt like they were encased in concrete, my average mile time for a 5k is 7 min mile and under and I couldn’t get it under a 8 min mile, I knew something was up, got a bfp the next morning.

I knew I was pregnant when brushing my teeth made me gag. It was really difficult to brush my teeth through both pregnancies and I ended up with 4 cavities!
