Book in Lieu of Card for Baby Shower

Book in Lieu of Card for Baby Shower

Alright, ready for another installment of the Baby Girl Shower?

If you’re just joining us- you can check out part 1 of the Sugar & Spice Baby Shower here and Part 2: Sweet Baby Water Bottles here.

Now on to part 3! The invitation!

So, first off, I didn’t do these invitations myself—I ordered them off of VistaPrint—I simply ran out of time and they have cute invites with GREAT prices.  I also LOVE the invites over at Cardstore—you can usually find really good deals there too!

Anyway, what I want to share today is a fun idea that I added to the invitations.

So, when I had my son I got a TON of cards and while cards are great it seems a little lack-luster to me for someone to spend $4-$5 on a card that we’re really never going to look at again….maybe in 20 or so years when it’s Little Man’s wedding day and we’re reminiscing but it’s not something I’m going to pull out and look at all the time.  It just gets put in the baby book and never looked at again.

For this baby shower I figure why not have people spend that $4-$5 on something useful that Mother and Baby will enjoy over and over again for years to come.  So, I added this little request into the invitation:

oct 009

And wouldn’t you know that one of the other ladies throwing a different baby shower for my sister in law thought of the same thing (thank you Pinterest) and this is the wording that she included with her invites (I don’t know if she came up with it on her own or found the wording somewhere so there’s no way for me to reference it):

Make sure you check out the other baby shower posts….and there’s still more to come- so stay tuned!
