Paint Brush Caddy from old Archer Farms Container

Do you suffer from Craftersmessydisorganization Syndrome?

I do!

I am constantly looking for remedies to cure my CMDS…. it seems like every time I turn around I’ve misplaced my stash of paintbrushes or I can’t find a particular ribbon that I just know I purchased but it’s no where in sight! So I’ve been working on getting organized and curing my CMDS once and for all!

I am constantly looking for remedies to cure my CMDS.... it seems like every time I turn around I've misplaced my stash of paintbrushes or I can't find a particular ribbon that I just know I purchased but it's no where in sight! So I've been working on getting organized and curing my CMDS once and for all! So, I made this cute Paint Brush Caddy to keep all of my paintbrushes coralled on my desk.  The best part... I can put them away wet! No more leaving them on the kitchen counter to dry! Right now I'm big on reusing and repurposing items that would normally be tossed... you know, help the environment and reduce my carbon footprint.  I just recently took formula containers and made them into coffee canisters... you can check those out here.  I also took my old nasty oven mitt and recovered it to make it look brand new.... check it out! So, when I had this leftover plastic jar from some yummy Archer Farms snacks I knew I could reuse it somewhere. But, who wants an ugly old Archer Farm container?
I decided to recover it with a scrap of fabric.  I find working with fabric on cylindrical or weirdly shaped items much easier than using paper- plus, it's a great way to use up scraps that don't really fit anything else.  I  attached the fabric to the plastic jar with spray glue- just like I did with my DIY Keurig coffee canisters. Next, I added a pretty bow!  I'm loving the bold colors of Aqua with Hot Pink... it so Summery! Next, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out "Paint Brushes" in a pretty damask scrapbook paper sheet.  Then I just used a glue stick to attach the letters to the fabric. I love it!  And since it's plastic I can store my paintbrushes wet and let them air dry. :) Have you made anything from trash lately?
