Have you ever left something to do for your kids until the last minute? Yeah, me neither . So, somehow the other night at 9pm I finally got around to filling the Easter eggs for a play date scheduled the next morning.
I thought I did so well—I needed a non-candy item for the eggs since these are for small toddlers and babies—Do you know how hard it is to find a non-candy item that will fit inside an Easter egg? It’s pretty difficult- choices are sparse!
Anyway, I found these little whistles at the Dollar Tree that were the PERFECT size!
Or so it appeared.
Well, after I put the Little Man to bed I remembered planned to stuff the eggs for the next morning. But, there was a tiny issue- the eggs would not close all the way with the whistle inside!
Soooooo close- but no deal. What on Earth was I going to do after 9pm on a Sunday night- I definitely was not making another trip to the store to search for some other treat for the eggs!
Luckily I had some washi tape thanks to my box o’ goodies from Consumer Crafts from the Pin It to Win It #CraftWishList contest going on right now (click here for details). No, this isn’t a sponsored post- I just LOVE sharing my Consumer Crafts goodies!
So I grabbed some washi tape and just taped the Easter eggs shut. Problem solved! And, I think they look cuter this way anyway! So, if you’re stuck on Easter Eve with treats that are too big for your eggs- just grab some washi tape and tape away!
I hope you’ll grab a cup of coffee and visit awhile!
