Purchase Green Personal Products
- Hubs and I just started using Tom’s of Maine®. We found the new Target Made to Matter collection on an end cap at our local Target and decided to give the Tom’s of Maine Luminous White Toothpaste a try. Hubs is also using the Tom’s of Maine North Woods Antiperspirant and I’m using the Tom’s of Maine Wild Lavendar Deodorant and we’re loving them!
- We love that the products are free of artificial fragrances, dyes, preservatives, etc and they’re never tested on animals…plus they work really really well! And at Target the price is awesome!
- The Luminous White Toothpaste is all natural, gluten free, paraben free, and whitens while being safe for enamel.
- The North Woods Men’s Antiperspirant not only makes Hubs smell great but it’s the first all natural antiperspirant for men that keeps them dry and odor free all day! And it doesn’t have any of that yucky stuff like petrochemicals!
- They even have a great smelling boys Wicked Cool! deodorant for when Little Man is ready.
- Check out the cartwheel offer for even more savings!

Make Your Own Cleaning Supplies
- I have been making my own cleaning products for several years now and not only is it a great green living practice but it’s super cheap too! And I have to admit…it’s makes me feel all Super Mom like when I make my own cleaning products.
- Check out these easy to make cleaning products:
- Take an hour or so one afternoon and mix these up so that you always have them on hand and can start green living right away.

Start a Composting Pile
- Instead of filling up the garbage can with perishables, start composting. The other day I shared a few tips on how to start composting and what items you can compost.
- Composting is not only great for keeping your garbage can from filling up but composting can do amazing things for your garden.
-
Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
- Haha….yep, I’m pulling out that age old adage….but it’s so true. Finding ways to repurpose items is a great way to live a green life.
- We’ve gotten so diligent about recycling that it has to be taken out more than the trash. In fact, I get so mad that the trash gets picked up every week but the recycling only gets picked up twice a month! By that point our recycling bin (which is the same size as our trash bin) is overflowing!
- Before you toss an item in the trash think about other ways you can use that item…whether it be to repurpose or even donate…someone may be able to use it somewhere.
-
Use Cloth Shopping Bags
- Not only is it environmentally friendly to take re-usable bags to the store with you but many places will give you a discount too?! Yep…Target give .05 when you bring in your cloth bags…it doesn’t seem like much but it adds up!
- Plus, there are so many cute re-usable shopping bags out there…bringing your own bags has become quite the stylish thing to do around here…they’re simply an extension of your outfit. 😉
Those are my simple tips for green living. Every small step we take has an impact on the Earth…we just have to keep making these simple life changes and before you know it you’ll be living green!
I partnered with Tom’s of Maine on these simple tips for green living because I’ve been using Tom’s of Maine for the last few months and I really do love their products…plus, their objective is perfectly in line with what we’ve been talking about this year on Serendipity and Spice. Beyond natural personal care products, Tom’s of Maine has been caring for communities, and the planet as a whole, for over 45 years. It just makes sense to partner with a brand that’s as passionate about helping people take those steps to a more natural lifestyle as we are here.
