Surviving Allergy Issues with a Toddler

My Allergy Season Survival Kit & Free Printable

 Allergy issues survival kit

I’m so excited that Spring is coming!  I can’t wait for the warmer weather, fun in the sun, gardening, play time at the park, itchy eyes, runny nose…..WAIT….WHAT???  Okay, maybe not the last two!  Unfortunately with Spring Fever comes hay fever and allergy issues that aren’t nearly as fun as frolicking in the sun!

I have horrendous seasonal allergies, Hubs has horrible seasonal allergies, and you guessed it….Little Man has developed our monsterous seasonal allergy issues!  Every time something new starts blooming we all go into full meltdown….I LOVE Spring…I just HATE the allergy issues!

This year I am prepared though!  I have collected all of our MUST HAVE allergy medications and remedies in one spot and made an “Allergy Survival Kit”!  I’m even sharing the printable label with you so you can make your own Allergy Survival Kit before allergy season hits!  This kit is great– it’s packed full of everything that we need and is compact enough to carry along with us!

Since we just moved I wasn’t sure where I would find the allergy medications we needed but I was super stoked when I saw that the new Walgreens is set up just like the old one I always went to.  The adult medications were right across the aisle from the children’s– it helped make finding everything oh so simple…..not to mention being on sale!!

Well at Walgreens

We take a daily allergy tablet in addition to other much needed symptom relievers like: nasal strips to sleep, cough drops for a scratchy throat, eye drops for bloodshot eyes, Wal-dryl for stuffy nose and occasional hives, tissues for never ending sinus issues, and local honey because it’s yummy and really does help.

I prefer to buy the #WellAtWalgreens brand medications because 1. they’re cheaper than the other brands, 2. they work fabulously, and 3. Walgreens’ Way to Well Commitment!  Have you heard of the Way to Well Commitment? Not only am I saving money on my MUST haves BUT starting back on February 1, 2011 through the end of the year Walgreen’s  donates 1¢ from  the purchase of every Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness product to support bringing preventative wellness services to local communities through the Walgreens Way to Well Commitment®- up to $3 million annually.  Something to feel good about while going through so many tissues!

Speaking of tissues…those are a definitely MUST have for the allergy survival kit!  I found these cute little packs with Toy Story characters– Little Man loves them!  I found everything I needed for the kit at Walgreens and the actual box itself came from the dollar store.  It was simple to put together…I bought all my items (itemized list below), printed out the free Allergy Survival Kit printable (you can print it out at Walgreens too)…it’s a 4×6 photo, and bought my box.  I brought everything home and just used packing tape to affix the printable onto the kit case and then loaded it up!

I love that EVERY THING we need for our allergies is now found in ONE spot so I no longer have to hear “hey, where’s the allergy meds?” “Hey, where’s the tissues?” “Hey, where’s the Wal-dryl?” and on and on.  Surely they’ll be able to find this bright and colorful kit easily! Wink
