Now that the hint of Summer is on the horizon I’m so excited to introduce Miss Jellybean to the water. I want to make sure that she loves the water just as much as Hubs, Little Man, and I do but I also want to be fully prepared for her first swimming experience!

When Little Man was a baby we were on vacation at the beach and noticed another infant about his age having a blast in the water with this amazing little float. We started talking to the other parents and they RAVED about how much they loved the float because it gave Baby the freedom to kick and splash in the water without having to be held by mom or dad and it free’d up the parent’s hands to play with Baby. Hubs and I knew that we needed this float for Little Man and asked the other parents what it was called and where they bought it. That’s how we came to LOVE SwimWays’ Baby Spring Float. We immediately went to ToysRUs that day and bought Little Man his own SwimWays Baby Spring Float!
Little Man loved the float too! He would just kick back and relax in the water…
We used that float so much with Little Man that we literally wore it out…I mean it lasted 2 summers with several airplane rides and even more road trips! We took the float with us to the pool every single time! We took it to the beach! We took it on our Disney vacation! We took it to pool parties at friends’ houses….if we were getting in the water- the Baby Spring Float was coming with us!
So, now that Summer is right around the corner I know that we need a new SwimWays Baby Spring Float for Miss Jellybean. She’s already a water baby (this kid LOVES the shower and bath) so I can’t wait to get her in her own Baby Spring Float so she can enjoy the pool as well!
One of the most important tasks when teaching kids to swim is making sure that they feel comfortable in the water. When Little Man and I took swim lessons last summer the instructors kept stressing the importance of making sure your child relaxes in the water and is completely comfortable before trying to teach any swim techniques. This is because they can’t learn when they’re not relaxed and a lot of water accidents happen because kids start to panic. When they’re comfortable in the water from a young age they are less likely to panic.
May 16, 2015 is National Learn to Swim Day…this year marks the 4th annual National Learn to Swim Day! It’s so important to kick off summer with safety in mind. The water can be such a fun place to spend those hot summer days but children and parents also need to be aware of water safety and learn to swim. SwimWays believes that swimming is an important life skill that every child should learn. That’s why they’ve developed a line of swim products that grow with your child.
