Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story
Why Parent’s Should Embrace the Mess!
Alright, you guys know what a Disney fiend I am! So you know I’m SUPER excited about sharing the new stop-motion animated film brought to us by Disney Interactive and Google called Blank: A Vinylmation Love Story. To start off, I decided this would be fun to watch with Little Man on our trip to Florida this past week– we’ll let’s just say he LOVED it so much that he stole my tablet so he could watch it over and over and over again! And I must say….it’s a fantastic movie with a great story line about friendship, love, and being yourself!
The story follows Blank, a new vinylmation toy– I know you’ve seen those adorable little toys shaped like Mickey Mouse with all different designs….they’re so perfect for a Disney collector like me! Little Man now wants his own “Blane”….he just can’t figure out the K on the end….it’s so super cute!
Anyway, I really loved the message that’s told throughout the story of Blank– he starts out feeling out of place and tries so hard to fit in until he meets his soul mate, Bow. But when she is taken away to be “fixed”….that’s when his epic journey to find her begins. Along the way he makes new friends and finds himself.
As parents watching this film I think we can take away the beauty that can be found in our children’s messes. I mean, they’re all born as a blank slate and too often we try to mold and shape them the way WE wish to see them. But sometimes we just need to let go and let them discover who they are on their own. Through their messes and adventures is how they discover who they are and they write their own story…we are merely the protectors there to help them along the way. So I say “Embrace the Mess” and let our children create their own….just like Blank did!
I highly recommend that you check out this movie….you can watch the trailer right here:

AND, you can watch the full version for FREE on Google! As if watching the movie for free isn’t awesome enough, to celebrate the premiere of Blank, Google is offering digital stills of the movie as greeting cards that you can send to your friends and family– when you share these you’ll unlock a second special film called Cranes in Love which is exclusively available for Google users.
